How does this happen? I have heard of some crazy things but this takes the cake. I can see a ticket for going over the speed limit but under. From reading the article it does not sound like the driver was endangering anyone by driving slower than the 65mph that the cop claims is the posted limit in that area. Also a stretch of that road is marked as 55mph and according to the article the ticket was given before you get to the posted 65mph limit sign.

Well I always read my local paper to see what is going on. My paper recently added a breaking news blog to their online edition. While reading the breaking news I ran across this article. I keep telling my husband that all the rocket scientists that we produce in this town should stick to what they know which is rocket science because everyone knows that most of them cannot drive very well. I say this because I spent all of Easter weekend going back and forth to my parents house. I live about 40 minutes away from them. It was Easter and my sisters birthday also so I was going to spend time with my niece while she was in town. 40 minutes is usually not a problem for me as we are always going into Huntsville for something since both my parents and my mother in law live in town and we chose to live closer to the hubby’s job and in the next county. Of course most of the roads I have to travel on are heavily traveled and it is only going to get worse with the growth that we are experiencing in the area. I just wish that people would use their turn signal and keep right except to pass. Is that asking too much?

I wish I was this girl. Maybe I should actually learn html so I can make cash. Ashley Qualls makes $70,000 a year designing MySpace layouts and writing HTML tutorials. Not bad for the initial $8 domain name investment.

Well it looks like Starbucks will be downsizing its staff in addition to closing 100 stores. It does not really come as a surprise to me since they announced they were closing stores and scaling back how many new stores they would open this year. Hopefully, they can become profitable again soon.
Why on Earth Would a 25 year Old February 20, 2008

Why would a 25 year old take a 14 year old to a school dance? Maybe the better question should be what business does a 25 year old have dating a 14 year old? Anyway, when I read about it it made me sick to my stomach. I know that there are age gaps in relationships as my parents are 7 years apart but, when your 25 at least make sure the kid is above the age of 18. Not much more that I can except find someone closer to your own age.

Well, it is a good thing that we did not have any more eventful mornings this week. I have had a hard time recovering from my early morning jolt out of the bed. My husband was saying the other day that on Wednesday that there were 91 reported tornadoes in that one day. Everybody talks about how rare winter tornadoes are but they really are not as rare as one would think. Check out the information here regarding tornadoes between 1950 and 2004. It was a record breaking day for number of Tornadoes reported. The tornadoes that hit Jackson and Lawrence Counties were thought to be EF4. The number of reported tornadoes has gone up again on this site it is now at 103 in a single day.
Eventful Morning February 6, 2008

Wow this morning was eventful here at my house. I was awakened around 3:15 am to the weather radio screaming in my ear. That alarm only has two settings either you can not hear it or it screams at you. After nearly killing myself to get out of the bed I realized we were under a tornado warning. So I woke the hubby and amazingly he got up quickly for him. Anyway, we sat in the living room watching the weather to see where the storm was headed. I finally went back to sleep. Lucky for us it passed just south of us. When I say lucky for us it was literally less than 10 miles away from us which is too close for comfort for me. My husband went outside to smoke around the time the storm was in our area. He said he could see something going on south of us but was not sure what it was. Well I knew that was bound to happen. As I was typing this my mother in law called to see if we were okay. She was worried about us.

Hopefully, this will give them enough evidence to finally prosecute the responsible parties. I have been saying all along that the Kalpoe Brothers and Joran Van Der Sloot were guilty. I know that everyone is innocent until proven guilty but, these guys have not shown any evidence that they were not guilty. I am hoping that the Holloway family can finally get some closure on what happened to Natalee.

I am not surprised by this announcement. I was just telling my husband the other night that I thought that Rudy Giuliani would be the next to go. He seems to think that Rudy would hang around until Super Tuesday. Well I guess that the hubby was wrong on that count. As for John Edwards dropping out that is no surprise either. I am surprised that he has not done so before now.

I just read this interesting article about Starbucks offering $1 cups of coffee at its stores. I think that is a wonderful idea for people who want a small cup of coffee but, not pay a premium for it. I was just telling my hubby if I had a choice of getting McDonalds coffee or Starbucks I am going to pick Starbucks any day. I am not a big coffee drinker but, I do like the White Chocolate Mocha that Starbucks makes. It is just the way I like my coffee lots of cream and sugar and a little coffee.
